Didcot's Liberal Democrats will be joining the remembrance day parade and service on Sunday 9th November, led by prospective parliamentary candidate Alan Armitage, who will lay a wreath on behalf of local Party members.
Said Mr Armitage: "While remembering the brave men and women who have died and suffered in world wars, we must particularly think about those areas of the world where British troops are still at risk of death or injury every day. Lib Dems hope that the election of Barack Obama to be president of the United States will allow an early withdrawal of British troops from Iraq, and from an occupation to which our Party was opposed from the start."
He added: "We also hope that our Government now understands that it is always unacceptable in the twenty-first century to invade another country without a legal mandate from the United Nations, or in self-defence. We will certainly never forget."
