Labour manifesto tries to correct the mistakes of the last 13 years

April 13, 2010 10:02 AM

Upside down Labour roseLabour's manifesto is full of broken promises, scaled-back pledges, policies lifted from the Liberal Democrats and proposals that simply do not go far enough. Commenting, Danny Alexander MP said: "They simply can't be trusted to do a single thing they say. The tax system is less fair than when Labour came to power. The only party that is committed to making Britain fairer is the Liberal Democrats."

Labour has presented a manifesto in which it attempts to correct the mistakes of its past: reform of the political system, better regulation of our banks, making those at the top pay their fair share of tax, protecting our post-offices and pubs.

Only the Liberal Democrats will reform the tax system properly so that the very rich pay their fair share; only the Liberal Democrats will bring the reform to our broken political system. Only the Liberal Democrats have the solutions to build a fairer

Britain. At the coming election there is a choice: believe, against all the evidence, that Gordon Brown has changed. Or vote for real change - the change that works for you - with the Liberal Democrats.
